Archival Collection
The Society collects archival materials relating to the history of the College and the town. Today it owns over 15,000 pages of documents ranging from the lecture notes of Dr. Willis R. Cullom to the football plays of Coach Douglas “Peahead” Walker. The approximately 2,000 photographs include a glass negative that shows the earliest known view of the old campus. The Society owns over 600 books, many of which were written by Wake Forest College staff and students. Over 1,000 college publications are part of the collection. One outstanding example is a college catalogue that was printed and distributed shortly after the school was founded.
